How to Installing Drone battery:

Drone batteries come in various types, included  safety protection, operation specification  and maintenance points.

In summary, the following six points need to be considered:

‌1.Physical Alignment and Latching:  ‌

  • Anti-Reversal Design‌: Battery connectors feature a key slot (e.g., DJI’s slide lock) to prevent reverse insertion. Do not force it.
  • Double Locking‌: After inserting, ensure a “click” sound and check if the lock indicator light (if equipped) is on.‌

2.Interface Cleaning and Inspection:

  • ‌Metal Contact Cleaning‌: Use a dry cotton swab to clean oxidation or dust from the battery/drone interface. Be cautious with alcohol swabs as they may corrode contacts.
  • Damage Check‌: Inspect the battery interface for bending or charring, and the drone slot for foreign objects like sand or grass.‌

3.Temperature and Environmental Control

  • Operating Temperature‌: The battery should operate between -10°C and 40°C. Preheat to at least 15°C in low temperatures and cool down if above 40°C.
  • ‌Prohibited Conditions‌: Avoid use in rainy or high-humidity environments (risk of short circuit) and areas with strong static electricity (risk of BMS interference).‌

4.Battery State Management

  • Takeoff Battery Level‌: Ensure each cell voltage is ≥3.7V (overall battery ≥30%); a full charge is best before takeoff.
  • Prohibited Batteries‌:  stop using batteries with bulging, leakage, or abnormal heating during charging, and contact after-sales support.‌

5.Transportation and Storage Norms                                                                                                                                             ‌

  • Transport Protection‌: Store batteries in fireproof and explosion-proof bags, and use insulating tape on electrodes to prevent short circuits.                                                                                                                                                                                 ‌
  • Long-term Storage‌: Maintain a charge level of 50% to 60% (full charge or discharge accelerates aging); perform a charge and discharge cycle every three months.‌

6.Brand Compatibility‌

  • Original Brand Preference‌: Non-original batteries may have unstable voltage or incompatible communication protocols (e.g., DJI  Air 3 does not accept third-party batteries).                                                                                                                             ‌
  • Firmware Compatibility‌: Ensure the battery and drone firmware versions match (older batteries may not activate newer models).

Safety Mnemonic‌:

  • Align, Lock, Check Temperature, Check Battery Level, Avoid Water, Use Original Brand with Confidence!
